After having been rather silent for a few weeks I’m back for ya with the latest Stuttgart foodie world news- Swabian tapas!
Yes, you’ve heard this right – Gasthaus Bären has opened its doors at the old Zwölfzehn location and is serving small tapas portions of Swabian (as in local Stuttgart) food.
Before I have started this blog I came across this beautiful video:
“Wandnotiz – Das Stuttgart-Manifest”.
A declaration of love to Stuttgart in moving images.
It’s voice over (in German, though) is done by Smudo, a famous German Musician from Stuttgart. He’s part of Gemany’s first successful German Hip-Hop Band “Die Fantastischen Vier”.
They came up in the 90ies but perform till this day and will go on tour, soon again. I used to be a massive fan and I still like them! This summer they will play (amongst many international A-listers) at some really nice festivals, for example the Stuttgart Jazz Open! Wohoooo, and I’ve been given a ticket as a xmas present, yay!
This video captures some of the nice spots and things to do in Stuttgart, so I thought you might like it, too.
Yakiniku ( 焼き肉 or 焼肉) literaly means ‘grilled meat’ in Japanese. And the name says it all, because this is excatly what awaits you here! Located in the ‘Heusteigviertel’ neighborhood, near Österreichischer Platz, this minimalistic yet cozy designed place only offers seven tables. Each one of them is equipped with its own grill which has a special exhaust air system, to make your experience as smoke free as possible.
One of the first things you probably want to do, once you’ve setteled in a new place, is: Meet other people and make new friends, who understand your situation, share your interests and hobbies.
Fortunately, there is a variety of groups for all the English speaking people, to choose from. Where international people like you meet, connect, and exchange information. Welcoming communities of open-minded individuals who share your experiences.
A few weeks ago, we were lucky to attend the opening party of a really nice and new Italian deli: Bottega da Giulia in Stuttgart West. I’ve passed the place a few times while it was beeing renovated and was curious about what it’s ging to be. But it was just by chance, that I saw the invitation for the opening on Facebook a few days before. And we’ve decided to join, of course, because my boyfriend and me absolutely love food, so we couldn’t miss that chance!
This is the kind of autumn that I love! Golden leaves and sunny October days… time to put our hiking shoes back on again! We like to be out and about with other people, wich is the reason we joined the “Stuttgart Hike and walk Group” (former “Outdoorsports Group) of the international Expat community Internations (their Stuttgart section, obviously). In fact, my boyfriend and me even got to know each other there… But that’s a whole different story.
